Why this role exists?<\/h2><\/div>

To deliver and support timely and accurate monthly management information to relevant internal and external stakeholders. To maintain and develop strong relationships with the Operational Teams, the Corporate Finance Team, Customers, and the wider Group Business Services Teams. Along with having strong relationships with the Finance Management Team you will support, where relevant, the wider Calico Homes Management team to promote and influence the strategic direction of Calico Homes. You will provide an efficient and effective accountancy service for Calico Homes.<\/p>\n

To promote the use of efficient systems and develop new ways of working to support the wider group. Support the Operations teams key decision-making process and influence future planning and business direction.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

How this role will deliver success<\/h2><\/div>

The role will include the production of accurate and timely management information to stakeholders, so they are well-informed with timely financial information in relation to operations. This will be done by creating, developing, and improving existing management information for Calico Homes to support improving the understanding of non-financial managers and the key performance indicators effecting their business.<\/p>\n

The Management Accountant will work closely with the Operations team and improve their understanding of the financial impact of decisions. Assisting them to make informed decisions that impact the financial performance of Calico Homes and the wider Group. The role will support the delivery of effective Business Partnering within the team, supporting the relevant areas of the business, this is to ensure financial input into planning and execution of projects is completed.<\/p>\n

The role will produce and support setting realistic and challenging budgets with detailed information that allows for successful budget monitoring and reporting so that the business performs as per agreed expectations. The Management Account will also support in developing and improving existing operational finance systems and processes. This will be done by ensuring they are efficient, effective, and fit for purpose for the users and your customers.<\/p>\n

The Management Accountant is responsible for the production of relevant Balance Sheets. Ensuring adequate financial controls are in place and that all balance sheet account reconciliations including that of Fixed Assets and Capital purchases are carried out in a timely manner with discrepancies being investigated and resolved you will give accurate information to all stakeholders, and we are operating within Group and legal requirements.<\/p>\n

You will deliver and support on compliance against all regulatory and legislative requirements including delivery of annual statutory accounts. This will include building solid relationships with our internal and external auditors to deliver strong internal controls ensuring the accuracy of our financial information.<\/p>\n

The Management Accountant will ensure a Value for Money (VFM) culture is embedded and contributes to the strength of the Group. They will also support the Finance Manager in the delivery of effective management of long-term projects, you will ensure that projects deliver on time and within budget and any variation to this is understood by the relevant managers.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Activities you will carry out within this role<\/strong><\/p>\n

Produce a monthly set of management accounts, along with an Operational finance report for review by the Finance Manager.\u00a0 This includes input from various parts of Operations, Assistant Accountants and Corporate Finance. Creating budgets and reviewing monthly performance with Operational Managers providing challenge and advising on alternatives to the proposed plan to update forecasts. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and work with the Assistant Accountants to update schedules providing assurance to the Finance Manager.\u00a0 Supporting the Finance Manager in all areas as requested including that of developing improved month end reporting information.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
